I don’t know what else to do, so I am turning you into a poem

I don’t know what else to do
So I am turning you into a poem

I am here to remind you
That is what you were made for
The girl whose hands turned my blood to gold
You are a poem I can no longer say out loud

But inside
inside me your name is a song on repeat

With shut eyes I see your kite-shaped constellation
With eyes open I see the spaces you returned to me.

  1. I wish I’d written that last line: “With eyes open I see the spaces you returned to me.” That’s good poetry.
